‘Padmavati’ surrounded with controversies since the date of its announcement

Bollywood movie Padmavati, starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor and its controversies are turning towards the ugliest side day-by-day! Protests for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s dream movie, a magnum piece of work, are spreading throughout the country and are worsening.
The BBFC-British Board of Film Classification in the UK provided a clearance to Padmavati without any cuts. But the Rajput Samaj raised voice to boycott release of the film in the UK. The Rajput Samaj has sent a written application to the BBFC to invalidate the certification of the film and ban the film in Britain.
Mahendrasinh Jadeja, Rajput Samaj’s President, UK, has reported in support of boycotting the film’s release. He says the movie Padmavati misrepresented Indian history, tradition, and culture. This is the main reason for which the movie is banned in many Indian states. He alleges, to get the movie released in Britain, the filmmakers are using smart approaches.
The filmmakers have stated, Padmavati will release in India and the same lineup, it will be released in the UK. Rajput Samaj’s President, UK, Jadeja interrupts this stating; the filmmakers have already broken reassurances for several times and can’t be trusted now!
The BBFC has not decided on the appeal to ban the release of Padmavati in the UK.
Following the protests for release of Padmavati, a dead body was found near the main gate of Nahargarh Fort. The locals found the body and informed about this to the police. Police haven’t yet found out the cause of death, and the body has also not been identified. But the main distraction was a note scribed on a rock found near the dead body. The Hindi note read, “Hum Sirf Putle Nahin Latkate- Padmavati” which means, “We don’t just hang Effigies- Padmavati.”
Karni Sena’s President criticized this act though he stated about the protests against Padmavati to be justified. He further added, to protest against the film, they will not support such options of protests as it is against the rules of their group.
Padmavati’s release has been banned in five states of India. The filmmakers are facing several threats, debates, and controversies for the content of the movie. As the concerned persons have not yet found a conclusion to end the protests, they are not able to finalize the date of release. The film is insured for 140 Crores, and if the film screening is affected for any reason, the distributors can claim Rs 80 Crore. The films get insured against events like bad-weather, riots or strikes, and the audiences are unable to access the movie theaters, but this warrant will be liable after the release of the movie. If the Government bans the movie then said, insurance amount can’t be claimed.
As per the director’s voice, Padmavati is a tribute to the bravery of Padmavati- a Rajput Queen. Deepika Padukone plays the character of Rajput Queen Padmavati, Ranveer Singh plays the character of Delhi Sultan Alauddin Khilji and Shaheed Kapoor plays the character of Raja Rawal Ratan Singh – The King of Chittor and husband of Padmavati.
Since the announcement of the movie, it is surrounded by controversies. The Kshatriya Samaj had announced of rewarding the person with an amount of Rs 5 Crore who will decapitate the lead actress in the movie- Deepika Padukone. Following this announcement, Akhil Bharatiya Kshatriya Mahasabha-ABKM also announced a reward of Rs 1 Crore for burning the actress alive!
Initially, the date of release is set for 1st December, but the new date of release has yet not been announced
