Prashanth Gurunath 22-year-old software developer from Chennai is helping people meeting friends made easy and convenient.

How equidistant locations (City Square App) idea comes to your mind?
This idea came to my mind in 2017 when I had to travel a lot to a meet-up point that was far away from my house. I missed the bus and spent a lotta money on cab fare to reach on time. I then did market research to check if there is an existing solution for this by any other big apps. To my surprise, it wasn’t there, and I started working on City Square.

How does the City Square App help the users?
City Square app allows users to enter multiple input locations and then they can find the central location with a single click. This central location is the place that is equidistant to all the added regions. People can save time, fuel, and money by meeting at this central location that’s equidistant to all ppl. They can also check out the Zomato restaurants in these added regions with details of the restaurant name, address, logo, the cost for 2 people, rating, etc. The app works worldwide, user can find the central location between Kansas and Koramangala if they want to.

I also mentor people in android app dev workshops and have mentored around 700 people as of now. I am passionate about app development and about solving problems which we face in our day to day lives.

What are the challenges you faced before/during the development phase?
Since I was an engineering student, I had to balance my studies, college work, and this. Creating time and working on the app was a bit hard initially. I had to learn a lot with respect to the development part since a lot of things were new to me. I am the single and only founder and developer of the app and doing all by myself was a bit challenging. I had to work on the UI, UX, do the market research about existing apps, and about branding as well. The coding part was there too.

City Square was featured in various renewed publishing sites like “The New Indian Express,  YourStory. And is very much active on social media page

What’s in the future?
I am currently onboarding restaurants/brands so that they can be listed in the app. Offers will be provided to all City Square users. I am working on the 2nd version of the app that will be out soon and I also have plans of making an iOS version of the app. City Square is a SAAS app and I’m aiming to onboard 25 brands/restaurants over the next few months.

What steps do you follow to make your journey smooth?

I am increasing the digital presence of City Square, working on UX research branding, subsequent versions of the app, and new updates.
